Clontarf School of Music COVID-19 Terms and Conditions

  1. Only the student attending the class will be permitted to enter the school building. Parents to drop and pick up young students outside the school, with the exception of pre music students, unless you have notified the teacher and the school that you prefer to pick up from the room, then we will make suitable arrangements.

  2. All our classes will be staggered to minimize students meeting in the hallway, on the stairs and in the music rooms. Example Class A will finish at 3.45pm and the next class will start at 3.55pm.

  3. There is no waiting in the hallway, you should arrive at the appropriate time and enter your designated music room immediately.

  4. In a group class situation there will be no more than 5 students per class, this will allow 1 metre distance, if we are still on 2 metres the group class will have no more than 4 per class.

  5. Hand sanitiser will be available in each classroom and students will be asked to use it when they enter, and when they leave.

  6. Instruments / Equipment will be disinfected after each student.

  7. All our rooms will be sanitized every 1.5 hours.

  8. Online learning will be available to students who are vulnerable or have a vulnerable family member and do not wish to attend class.

  9. Students are requested to practise social distancing at all times. Social distancing will be observed by teachers.

  10. Please give way to students coming up the stairs.

  11. Our group classes are held in a room approx 10x 6 metres.

  12. We will have open days in the school in September for parents /students to come and meet us and have a look at our premises. This is by appointment only.

  13. If you have any symptoms of cold, flu, high temperature, symptomatic, please do not attend your class, notify the school and our teachers will do a video call and run through the material done in the class.

Contingency Plan for COVID-19 Closure

  1. Students signing up for this term should be aware that in the event of an extended COVID-19 closure, online classes will be given as an alternative to lessons on our premises for all students.

  2. Holidays such as Midterm, Christmas, or Easter may be used as a contingency weeks for make up classes.

  3. Students may not opt out of online classes during the Semester, and online classes will be treated the same as appointments on our premises. Any exemption from participating in online classes must be agreed in advance of the start of term. If you wish to be exempt for reasons of age / access / technical reason, please contact us as soon as possible. It is necessary to do this to set out our yearly budget accurately and secure the livelihood of our teachers. In the case of an exemption, balances from any online classes will be given in the form of a deduction from Semester 2 fees in January.
