Semester 1: Prices, Dates & Holiday Schedule 2024/2025 

Semester 1 - 14 Lessons

  • Semester 1 commences: Monday 9th September 2024.

  • Closed for Mid Term Break: Monday 28th October 2024 - Sunday 3rd November 2024. Reopen Monday 4th November 2024.

  • Closed for Christmas Holidays: Monday 16th December 2024 - Sunday 5th January 2025. Reopen Monday 6th January 2025.

  • Semester 1 finishes: Sunday 12th January 2025.

  • Please note there is no break between Semester 1 and Semester 2.

Price List Semester 1

  • Private Piano/Keyboard - 14 weeks (classes), duration 30 minutes per class, cost €395.

  • Private Singing - 14 weeks (classes), duration 30 minutes per class, cost €395.

  • Private Guitar - 14 weeks (classes), private lessons (= one student & teacher), duration 30 minutes per class, cost €395.

  • Group Guitar - 14 weeks (classes), max. 6 students per class, duration 45 minutes per class, cost €215.

  • Pre Instrumental Music - 14 weeks (classes), max. 8 students per class, duration 60 minutes per class, cost €287.

  • Guitar Classes Buddy System - available only on request:

    • Learn with a buddy (2 students) - 14 weeks (classes), duration 30 minutes per class, cost per student €245.

    • Learn with 2 buddies (3 students) - 14 weeks (classes), duration 45 minutes per class, cost per student €275.

  • Closed for Mid Term Break: Tuesday 18th February - Sunday 23rd February 2025. Reopen Monday 24th February 2025.

  • Closed for Saint Patrick’s Day Bank Holiday: Monday 17th March 2025.

  • Semester 2 finishes: Monday 14th April 2025 inclusive.

General Terms & Conditions

  1. The Clontarf School of Music does not does not accept certain types of behaviour, such as bullying, violence, sarcasm, name-calling, favouritism, abusive language or gestures, negative criticism of values, beliefs and opinions, and negative highlighting of physical, social cultural or emotional differences, and will intervene to ensure the fair and equitable treatment of all. Good behaviour and respect for teachers and other students is expected.

  2. There is no supervision for students before or after classes, parents/guardians are expected to collect their children at the appropriate time.

  3. Smoking, chewing gum, & alcohol is not allowed on the school premises. Please use bins provided for waste. Students and parents should respect the premises, making an effort to leave the school clean and in good condition.

  4. The Clontarf School of Music reserve the right to refuse enrolment if a student or parent is continually disruptive, causes damage to the school premises / equipment, or puts the safety of themselves or others at risk. Serious offenders could be at risk of losing their place at the school and / or term fees paid. The Clontarf School of Music reserves the right to discontinue the enrolment of any student who misses three consecutive lessons without notification, has a pattern of absences or who is constantly late.

  5. We ask that parents and students show respect for other students in class. Parents should talk to teachers at the beginning of the class if they have concerns, rather than at the start of the next student’s class. Parents should be aware of all our school policies.

  6. Please note that all office queries be directed to 085 133 1228 or contact@clontarfmusicschool.com as the the office is located outside the school premises.

  7. Should the Clontarf School of Music need to close for any reason (e.g. adverse weather conditions) the school may open during holidays at their discretion. These dates will be marked as contingency days in the calendar. If a student misses a class they are not entitled to a refund for that class as the teacher’s time is booked for that time for the whole semester, and the teacher will be at the school for the designated time of the class whether the student is or not. On occasion it may be possible to re-schedule the lesson based on the teacher’s availability; this will depend on the circumstance and the amount of notice given. The Clontarf School of Music reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher when necessary. Notice of this will be given where possible.

  8. All our teachers are Garda Vetted, and have completed the Introduction to Children First Tusla program.

  9. All our Teachers are on a yearly contract, hence The Clontarf Music School cannot guarantee the same teacher year after year. You will be notified, by email, of any changes in the teacher’s schedule, their absence/leave and their replacement.

  10. All group classes are duration of 45minutes with a maximum of 6 students per class.

  11. A minimum number of 3 students are required to run a group class.

  12. Buddy system classes are for 2 students only at 30 minutes per class.

Enrolment and Payment

  1. Enrolment for lessons and courses requires a completed enrolment form accompanied either by fee in full or deposit of €50. On completing an application form, please indicate more than one choice of day and time as places are limited. All students will be asked to login to my music staff after submitting their application.

  2. Fees are payable through My Music Staff. Where an invoice will be generated and forwarded to you.

  3. All fees for Semester 1 must be paid in full 3 weeks after start of first Semester.

  4. All fees for Semester 2 must be paid in full 3 weeks after start of second Semester.

  5. You may not be permitted to your class if full fee is not paid by these dates.

  6. We accept PayPal, Standing Orders, Electronic Transfer, Cheques and Cash as payment. Contact contact@clontarfmusicschool.ie for these methods of payments, and how to submit your payment if it is cash or cheque. Please do not send cash in the post. Please note there is no post box for the school. Please do not leave envelopes on the stairs or lying on the floor in the hall. Please be aware that teachers will not accept deposits/fees from students

  7. Standing Orders may be set up with The Clontarf School of Music for the full school year (September – June).

  8. All fees and deposits are non-refundable. Deposits and fees are only refunded at the discretion of the Clontarf School of Music.

Attendance Policy

  1. Payment must be made for all classes, whether taken or missed.

  2. Classes cannot be made up in the case of a student being absent. If a student misses a class they are not entitled to a refund for that class as the teacher’s time is booked for that time for the whole semester, and the teacher will be at the school for the designated time of the class whether the student is or not. On occasion it may be possible to re-schedule the lesson based on the teacher’s availability; this will depend on the circumstance and the amount of notice given.

  3. If you are not going to make a class as a courtesy to the teacher we ask that the school, or teacher, be notified before the scheduled class time.

  4. If the teacher is unable to give a class, the class will be rescheduled for a later date or the student may take up the class with a substitute teacher.

  5. Holidays such as Midterm, Christmas, or Easter may be used as a contingency weeks for make up classes.

Cancellation Policy

  1. The Clontarf School of Music reserves the right to cancel any course or group lesson because of insufficient enrolment.

  2. In case of a cancellation by the music school, all deposits and fees will be refunded if the School cannot offer classes and courses of a similar level and standard.

  3. The Clontarf School of Music reserves the right to make changes to class timetables or teachers.

Online Classes - Terms & Conditions

  1. Our online classes may be a substitute for your regular classes that you attend at the Clontarf School of Music, 6b Saint Aidan’s Park Road, Marino.

  2. By taking lessons online, you agree to allow The Clontarf School of Music to pass on your contact details, mobile phone and email address, to your proposed teacher.

  3. You give the right for your teacher to contact you in relation to your music classes at The Clontarf School Of Music, 6b Saint Aidan’s Park Road, Marino, Dublin 3.

  4. If you arrange an online class with your teacher and fail to attend at the appropriate day and time you will forfeit your class.

  5. Please ensure that you attend on time for your class, as teachers cannot give you the exact duration of your class if for example you are 10 minutes late.




The Clontarf School of Music reserves the right to amend any of the above.
